    TITANOMACHY Empty TITANOMACHY

Post by lime Sun Aug 08, 2021 2:50 pm

    Welcome to...
    TITANOMACHY

In a world where gods and mortals walk side-by-side, the threat of destruction lurks around every corner. Will you embrace it, or fight to stop it?

    TITANOMACHY Castle_01

Nova Stratos. The Holy Capital. A city that survived a millennia of wars, a testament to the strength of those who long for peace above all else.

With the last of the wars ending seventy years prior, necessary precautions have been put into place. The Hallowed Council of the Gods serves as a means to diffuse tensions before they lead to bloodshed.

While mortals tread the same ground that immortals do, most Gods rule over them in their respective realms outside of Nova Stratos. Some mortals live happily serving their deities, while others dream of... more.

Gods wield great authority in these lands. With their devotees serving as their armies, and with more worship leading to their grand abilities and powers, Gods are the pillars of their realms. However, not all Gods deserve respect.

Your place in this world depends on the choices, allegiances, and promises you make. You are the master of your own fate, after all.

    ------------------------------

    Things to know

    • In this setting, you have the choice of playing a mortal (human or otherwise), a god whose domain you can choose, or something else entirely.
    • This is a collaborative, GM-less, and text-based roleplay. The story moves forward and ends based on what those who are participating do.
    • Basically anything goes. You can play whatever you want as long as it fits into the vague lore descriptions I've given. You get to come up with your God's realm/choose what realm your mortal is from/whatever fruits your loops. Hell, come up with even more lore if you want. Go crazy!
    • You CAN play multiple characters if you want to. Keep in mind that you'll have to indicate which character you're playing somewhere in text; whether you color-code your characters, use different fonts, or just simply state who is who is up to you.
    • You can reply whenever you want to. You can even jump into the story whenever you want to, or add a new character whenever you want to. I want this to be zero-pressure.
    • Make sure to use the "QUOTE" button in your posts to indicate who you are talking to; this is located on the bottom right of a person's post, next to the big gray "MULTI-QUOTE" button, which might also do something similar (but I haven't used it yet, either).
    • There's no limit on how many replies you can post.
    • The most important thing is to just have fun! You want your god to have multiple forms? That's fine! You want to play a disgraced mortal warrior who wants immortality? Sure! There's no wrong way to play this. If you have questions, just ask!

    Name: Lune

God, mortal, or something else?: God

    Age: Very fucking old

    Pronouns: They/them, he/him

Appearance: Lune is an odd-looking individual, with purple skin dotted with glowing freckles and only eight fingers. Their most noticeable feature is their head/face, which is just a glowing orb that reflects whatever moon phase it currently is. Lune dresses in fine clothes of silk, and is often barefoot.

Skills/Talents: Their domain allows them to influence one's dreams and nightmares, if they so wish. They can also easily disappear into darkness. Their main talent is their control of the moon and whether it rises or sets, and how this affects other phenonemon (like the tide). Wields a big ol' anime scythe.

Hobbies/Interests: Is an avid fan of theatre. Jewelry-making is one of their favorite hobbies. Is also interested in reading about the ocean and the creatures that inhabit it, though their realm is far from it.

    Place of Origin/Residence: Belinay

Motifs: The moon (who would've guessed?), and sometimes stars. Black, silver, and indigo are the colors most often associated with Lune.

Realm: Lune's realm is called Belinay, which is located to the east in the tall Abha Mountains. It sits in the center of a large mountain lake on an island, so it is only accessible by a lone bridge or by boat. It is eternally night in Belinay, with snow being common. Devotees of Lune live in short but spawling houses made from white brick. Despite it being in the center of the island, Lune's temple is only accessible to worshippers on full moons. Life in Belinay is comfortable, with frequent celebrations and a market known for its oddities.

Domain: Most commonly associated with the moon and lunar cycle, but Lune's domain also includes dreams, prophecy, the night, and nighttime festivities. Shrines of Lune are often found by lakes and special ones are put up in cities during lunar eclipses, harvest moons, super moons, and blood moons.

Occupation (if any): Though not an actual job, Lune tends to provide advice to those who travel far to receive it from them. They're the one who helps the moon rise at night, and the one who puts it to rest in the morning. Lune also holds a seat on the Hallowed Council in Nova Stratos.

    Character Bio:

Mythology states that Lune was born with the moon in the sky, rising out of the lake where Belinay sits today. The truth behind this story is unknown, however, as Lune rarely talks about their early life as a god.

Although these days they are known for their staunch neutrality on most conflicts, they were known to stir up trouble hundreds of years before. With their domain allowing them to influence the dreams of both mortals and gods, Lune would occassionally fuel tensions by showing visions of power and glory to those who had the ability to go to war for such things.

One such dream was shown to a rival god, whose greed lead him to try and conquer the realms of his fellow immortals. Thinking that Lune would have his back since they were the one who gave him the dream, the god climbed all the way to Belinay to ask for Lune's allegiance in the wars that were currently underway. Horrified by what they had wrought, Lune refused the offer.

This, of course, angered the other god, who unleashed their fury on the then-small Belinay. For a time Lune's realm was under siege and Lune was imprisoned deep below the lake, but was eventually freed once the war was over and the rival god was defeated.

Since then, Lune rarely gives out visions and prophecies to those who don't reside in Belinay. As a result, it is an important occasion when it does happen.

Just wanted to post mine first so people can have an example if they needed one lol.

    Name: Skvader

God, mortal, or something else?: God

    Age: ???

    Pronouns: He/Him

Appearance: Skvader normally presents himself as a young boy with faintly blue skin, and wings incorporated into his arms. his feathers are a dark blue/grey, with iridescent green mixed in in parts. his right wing is currently broken, sometimes it appears missing entirely. When not in his humanoid form he often presents himself as a small crow with a broken wing.

Skills/Talents: Skvader maintains many of his powers from his original domain. Originally, he was  a mischief god, who held domain over small animals, practical jokes, and flight. His powers currently are greatly weakened, though he has gained certain new strengths.

    Hobbies/Interests: Revenge

Place of Origin/Residence: his realm was once a place known as the Bramblegreen, a small forest in a valley to the north. it was filled with many small creatures and animals, and some people who all lived carefree if sometimes chaotic lives. after events near the end of the wars, the Bramblegreen was ravaged, eventually the mountains on either side broken with fires and flood, to the point that the entire valley was filled with refuse. it is now a large relatively flat area known as the Shattered Plane.

Motifs: Any small animals, birds, crows, foxes, raccoons, followers at what point took to carrying around crow feathers, and wearing them as ornament as a symbol to their god.

Realm: Skvader no longer has his own realm, though he often returns to the shattered plane, he is largely nomadic at this point. he travels around, visiting those who have been wronged.

Domain: Skvader was once known as the god of mischief and fancy-flight, but after the events near the end of the wars he has changed greatly. he is now a god of vengeance, the god of those scorned, or wronged.

    Occupation: Fucking shit up?

Character Bio: For a very long time Skvader lived a happy life in the Bramblegreen with all the animals and people who lived there. no one knows exactly where he came from, perhaps not even him, though some say he was simply a bird who one day decided it would be a rather excellent prank to become a god. whatever the case, he was a carefree agent of chaos, though most regarded him as rather harmless. As the wars between gods raged on, Skvader kept out of the conflict, and most didn't feel the need to get the Bramblegreen involved.

near the end of the war, two of the more powerful rival gods were waging all out war, and the Bramblegreen lay directly between their realms. both gods thought it would be much easier to simply take the bramblegreen under their control, and use it as a forward base to attack their enemy directly. over many years of harsh fighting back and forth the Bramblegreen was comepletely destroyed, Skvader was maimed, many of his powers lost and his wing broken, and eventually the bramblegreen was entirely flattened leaving the shattered plain behind. shortly after these events, the current "peace" in the world was established 70 years ago.

Skvader had changed, he was no longer skvader, the mischief, skvader, the god of fancy-flight, he was now skvader, the god of vengeance, the clawed hand of the scorned. many people these days who know of him simply call him the one winged crow. the few who have witnessed his ire first hand have a different name for him, whispered at smokey tables in dark back rooms, Rachegöttin, Karma made manifest.

    Name: Lark

God, mortal, or something else?: Mortal

    Age: 19 years old

    Pronouns: She/her

Appearance: Lark is a willowy young woman of average height, with strikingly pale hair and eyes. As is customary in Letum'mor, she wears fine clothes in shades of black and red, and wears face and body paint. Lark's usual expression is that of mild amusement and/or a calm smile.

Skills/Talents: Because of the dangers of Letum'mor, Lark makes up for her lack of magical abilities with her use of weaponry. She is particularly skilled with rapiers. Lark is also a talented singer, and participates often in religious choirs and musical prayer.

Hobbies/Interests: Lark has very few interests outside of her duties of Tender, but she has a keen interest in the customs of other realms. Learning about the food and the fashion are her favorites!

Place of Origin/Residence: Letum'mor, Realm of the God of Death

    Realm:
Located far, far to the north lies what is known as Letum'mor. Due to its location between the harsh, mountainous terrain of the Stirling Range and the sands of the Silent Sea, a seemingly endless frozen desert, travel in and out of these lands is dangerous.

Mythology states that Letum'mor was founded not long after the death of The First, the very first mortal to ever die. In fact, it is said that the enigmatic god of death, Res, purposefully shaped the surrounding land to make it as unwelcoming as possible as to reduce the amount of visitors to the Tomb of The First. It is not known whether this was because Res simply wanted to protect the tomb, or wanted to hide it out of fear.

Life in Letum'mor revolves around religious holidays and practices, and many of the families there have bloodlines tracing back to the realm's founding. Residents of Letum'mor and the followers of Res often stand out due their stark wardrobes of black and red. Many devotees also sport either tattoos or face/body paint.

Occupation (if any): Tender to The Tomb of The First

    Character Bio:
At a very young age, Lark had the honor of being hand-picked by Res to be trained in the way of a Tender, a special type of priest/priestess that specifically protects and cares for the body of The First and their resting place. Like all Tenders, Lark was then taken away from her family to be raised and educated within the Temple of Res, by the older Tenders. Growing up, Lark took her education and religious duties very seriously, and would surprise many when her devotion led to her being made into a full-fledged Tender by the age of 18. Lark was fully prepared to live the rest of her life this way, hidden away as she cared for a corpse, until one day, Res turned life in Letum'mor on its head.

At the behest of the Hallowed Council, Res would be moving the Tomb, its ward, and the Tenders to be hidden somewhere within Nova Stratos for reasons only the gods knew. Deeply shaken at this sudden change, Lark is now trying to find her footing in a city that is wildly different from that of the quiet life in Letum'mor.

    Name: Ilse Mariele

God, mortal, or something else?: Cat Girl1!

    Age: 21

    Pronouns: She/Her

Appearance: Ilse is a young, tan girl with dark curly hair and cat ears. at one point she wore the fine clothes of a performer, but she now wears the weathered clothes of a traveler.

Skills/Talents: She has skill with most manner of fire-arm. in her performing days they called her the finest gunslinger in all of the divine realms, how much of this title was boast is up to interpretation, though she is certainly a crack shot. she also has the heart of a performer, and the skills to go with such a role, even if her association with such things has soured.

Hobbies/Interests: Ilse has always enjoyed shooting, as a skill to pursue on it's own. when she was young, before she was allowed onto the stage, she envied the ribbon dancers and trapeze artists, though as she grew she accepted that she didn't have the skills for such a thing herself.

Place of Origin/Residence: Ilse spent most of her life in the realm of Vitelo, the god of loyalty and meriment. Belstones, the city which Vitelo calls home, is a wonderous place with many open air markets and many theatres, to the east, at the foothills of the Abha Mountains. Ilse has since been excommunicated from Belstones.

Motifs: Ilse has a heavy presence too her, people can tell that she has the weight of a god behind her, even if it isn't clear who or what exactly. it's a common sight to see crows flying in the sky, or rabbits with unusually intelligent eyes when passing her on the roads, and, though it might simply be a trick of the light, it sometimes for a moment appears as though she has wings herself. she also has several guns.

Realm: No longer welcome in Belstones, Ilse is now a Nomad, much like her new patron god. more recently, however, she has made the journey to Nova Stratos, to place her will, and the will of her god on the shaping of this new age.

Occupation: Ilse currently works as a mercenary of sorts, a gun for hire to make ends meet, though her more official job is that of a priestess to Skvader.

Character Bio: Ilse's family were performers in The Grand Locale, a massive circus like performing theatre in Belstones dedicated to Vitelo. Life was good for those who maintained their devotion to Vitelo, however for those who "turned their back" Vitelo punished, and made examples of. These heathens were cursed with ill fortune, or physically maimed, forced to do menial labor, or thrown into cells, among other punishments. Ilse, along with a handful of other performers in the city eventually started smuggling people who were forced to endure the worst of Vitelo's punishments out of the city using their performances as distractions to give opportunities to move people.

Vitelo eventually discovered the small underground group, and his fury was immense. many of those directly involved were outright killed, and their families faced many punishments, unless they disowned the offending family members. Ilse herself was cursed with misfortune for the rest of her days, and thrown out of the city.

She wandered for a while, followed by many minor misfortunes. she would find it would start raining just as she was setting up a campfire for the night, or she would be short on money when trying to pay for a meal, or her guns would jam at the most inconvenient of times. Eventually she came to the most unlucky fate of all, she came face to face with Rachegöttin, the wrathful god of vengeance. Rachegöttin, though he would soon introduce himself as Skvader, sensed something of a kindred spirit in her. Skvader made a pact with her, an offering he had never made before.

you see, in the days before his realm was destroyed, Skvader had never had any real temples or religious followers. laughter and joy were worship plenty for a practical jokester like him. Ilse became his first, and only priestess.

Ilse set forth with new purpose, and with the weight and fury of a god behind her, nothing could stand in her way. her misfortune, once a curse for her to bare, now spreads to her enemies in equal measure, she uses it to her advantage. currently she bides her time, taking every opportunity to enact karma on those she comes across, and waiting for an opportunity to eventually liberate all those she left behind in Belstones, and, perhaps, to help forge a more just new age.
